In 1990, from our roots as a small bulk plant based fuel distributorship, Crescent Oil Company, Inc. began an aggressive growth program which as seen our company become one of the largest distributors of Conoco-Phillips fuels in the Mid Continent. We have also greatly expanded our relationships with Shell, Valero, and BP. While our emphasis is on branded fuels, we also work with a number of unbranded suppliers in supplying the needs of our non-branded customers. It is these strong supplier relationships, coupled with our network of available carriers that allow Crescent Oil to provide both stability and flexibility of fuel supply to our customers in seven states.
Our customers may choose to work with us in wholesale capacity (Crescent Oil simply sells the fuel when delivered, and maintains no interest in the fuel), or they may partner with us on a consignment basis. As consignment fuels are sold at retail sites, our customers share in the proceeds. We have seen our consignment area grow quite rapidly over the recent years, and now approach nearly 35% of our fuel distribution business. Our goal is to continually work with both current and prospective customers to determine which supply option best fits their particular needs.
